If you've been a fan of Details for a few years, you might remember the stunning nuptials of Jessica Mehl and Stuart Reasons from June 2009. You may even remember seeing her grace the pages of Arkansas Bride with this {photographer favorite} image ...
Well nowadays, Jessica is a rising star in the fashion world and is playing an exciting part in next week's
NWA Fashion Week. Her company,
DahliaLynn, is hosting a trunk show and our associate Ashley got all of the details from Jessica herself ...
If you’re looking for that special jewelry piece to complete your look, you will not want to miss the DahliaLynn trunk show on Monday, March 5th at Savoir-Faire in Fayetteville. DahliaLynn is the unique jewelry line designed by former Details bride, Jessica! This week, I got a chance to talk to Jessica about her jewelry line, the upcoming trunk show, and her tips on how to incorporate personal style into your engagement events and wedding day.
Jessica began making her own jewelry two years ago, and last April, DahliaLynn was born. When asked what led her to create the line, she explained “I decided to start making jewelry when I was seeing unique statement jewelry pieces that I loved, but that were upwards of $500 or $1000. So, I started to make pieces of my own for a fraction of the price, and friends and family quickly started to noticed and request that I make them jewels for their own. I truly believe that anyone should be able to get unique and amazing jewelry at a reasonable price, and that is what DahliaLynn is all about.”
Each DahliaLynn piece is unique, fashionable, and affordable, and could be the perfect addition to your bridal or engagement shoot, or any special occasion throughout your engagement. Jessica says she always dresses for herself and no one else, and this confidence shines through in her creative jewelry. “I think if you wear what makes you happy and confident, you can’t go wrong.” That is what is so wonderful about each DahliaLynn piece; you can choose the items that allow your personal style to shine through and make you feel most confident.
As a former bride, Jessica also has a few tips for how to incorporate personal style on your wedding day. One great piece of advice that she shared was to avoid “trends and of the moment looks.” This way, you won’t look back on your pictures in twenty years and wonder, “what was I thinking?”
Jessica, who radiates style, suggests that brides incorporate personal style into their wedding look, thus remaining true to themselves. “It is your day, so dress how you want to. I think if you keep that in mind, you really can't go wrong. And as much as I love style and weddings, the most important part of your special day is committing to share the rest of your life with that special someone.”
To give us a glimpse of what we can see at the Trunk Show, here are some photos of a few great DahliaLynn pieces for any occasion.
Jessica says, “For the show, I did my best to send an eclectic mix of all DahliaLynn designs and made sure to send several pieces with a vintage vibe with pearl, chain, and rhinestone accents because those pieces do so well at Savoir-Faire. Staying true to DahliaLynn's mission, there will be something for everyone at several price points.”
I encourage everyone to stop by the DahliaLynn Trunk Show at Savoir-Faire on Center Street in Fayetteville from 5-9 pm on Monday, March 5
th to have the chance to see these wonderful pieces for yourself. Also, check out
